The Seeds in My Seed Catalog

The neatest way for me to organize my various seeds has been in a binder with inserts. I categorize by brand and then by herb or vegetable. When I first started purchasing seeds I just bought any from Amazon. There was nothing wrong with the seeds that I ordered but I wanted to shop sustainably. I did research on companies that specifically sold seeds. Some of the companies I have experience with are below.

Renee’s Garden: Renee Shepherd is widely regarded as a pioneering innovator in introducing international vegetable, culinary herb and flower varieties to home gardeners and gourmet restaurants. After receiving her PhD from UC Santa Cruz and teaching there, she established Renee’s Garden in 1998 to do what she likes best – searching out the very best seeds from around the world, thoroughly testing them in the company’s trial gardens to choose top varieties for our seed packets, and developing recipes based on homegrown produce to happily share with others in her cookbooks.

MIgardener: Started by a husband-and-wife team, Luke and Sindy Marion. What started in 2011 as a small dream to inspire people to grow their own food has now blossomed into a thriving community and business powered by passion, purpose, and a whole lot of dirt under their nails.

Johnny’s Selected Seeds: For over 50 years Johnny’s Selected Seeds has been helping families and friends to feed one another. They carry vegetables, fruits, flowers, herbs and supplies.

Below are some of the seeds I first purchased from Amazon. There was nothing wrong with these seeds. All of my herbs and vegetables taste just fine.
